Tau Bullshark Part 2

So I have been working on this scratch build for the few months. It started out as tons of sketches while at work and it is reaching the final stages of completion. The mail hull was constructed out of balsa wood and then covered in plasticard. The gaps were filled in with greenstuff.

The finished product is not as rounded as the the original idea was, but I feel it still holds the Tau aesthetic.

The final step is to built the weapons systems for the ship. It is going to count as a "Storm Raven" so I'm thinking of two burst cannons (one on each drone), two side mounted Ion guns (they will count as a single Quad Ion Turret), and four Seeker Missiles.

I'm hoping to get an airbrush soon and this will be the first project I paint with it.

Once this is all finished up the next project will be to build a "count as" Thunderhawk" code named Narwhal.

Tau Bullshark

I never liked the Forgeworld Orca for Tau. I decided to completely scratch build a heavy transport. The Bullshark will count as a Storm Raven. So far I have the fuselage built. I built the basic shape out of balsa wood and covered it in .5mm plasticard and filled in the gaps with greenstuff. The wings are from a pt-51 mustang model I had laying around.

INQ 28

So a little while back I found a huge forum of INQ 28 models. The navigator house by Weirdingway shows just how far you can take a warband within the Inquisitor game. I found the range of conversions to be inspirational and decided to build a couple models. Not sure how I want to paint these guys yet but I like how they've turned out so far.

Stealth "kroot"

I'm So I found these minis from reaper minis. When I first saw them I knew I needed them for my tau army. The plan is to model them with light armor, and re-breathers (they are fish). Some one told me the look like the could be a kroot sub species which would work for the fluff.

I bought a tube of green stuff and did a couple test helmets. I plan on getting some grey stuff to stiffen up the putty, the green stuff is not create crisp edges as I'd hoped. I also want to get instant mold so that I can recreate the armor with press molds. Here's the final mock up of the helmet that I'll probably stick with.

Once they are done I'll use them as stealth suit "count-as". I would like to beef up their stats and points because they are larger then standard stealth suits.

Templar brethren

So after seeing te Templar brethren minis from forgeworld I decided that my Templar Knights needed a detachment of brethren. I incorporated my grey and black scheme with the yellow helmets (pretty easy, and not too bad looking if I say so myself). I also scratch built my HQ choice for the brethren. I've part of a tech marine built, but still have a good bit of work todo on him.

Finished hammerhead

Finally finished this bad boy. I decided to go with a "digital camo" for the hull. The yellow markings were sort of a pain. I had to lay down white first and then carefully trace with the yellow.

Repainting my tau army

So I went and picked up a new pot of fenris grey. I was told that it was the same color as space wolves grey (my pot from about 5 years ago was getting pretty dried up). I stripped the paint from my hammerhead and started repainting it. After I had the fenris grey down I sat it next to my fire warriors and much to my dismay the colors are NOT the same.

I like the way fenris grey looks with the grey paint I use so I decided to keep it. This means that I now have to repaint my whole army, oh darn. I'll post more pictures of my battle suits as I finish converting them. But for now, here's the main hull of the hammerhead.
